Steel Frame Houses
A steel framed house is classified as being of non-standard construction as opposed to other types of traditional house construction using wood frames. The steel frame structure is often not obvious, being hidden behind cladding, external brickwork or render.
Increasingly, more factories are making steel frames for the house-building industry using the `light gauge steel construction’ technique: lightweight steel is made from thin sheets of steel measuring between 1-3mm, which are cut and constructed using welding, bolting or riveting techniques, into the required shape at the factory.
On-site, the light steel is fitted to concrete foundations before other materials are used in the construction process to fill the structure of the house, such as brick, render and timber studs.

Advantages of light Gauge steel construction
Light gauge steel structures have many of the advantages of light wood framed structures:
- They are light, and allow quick building without heavy tools or equipment. Every component can easily be carried by hand – a house is like a carpentry job on a larger scale. The main tool is a light, handheld screw gun. Since steel is strong, LGS structures are lighter than wood framed structures of equivalent strength.
- Their higher strength allows greater spacing between members when compared to wood frame construction: About 24″ (600mm) for LGS vs. about 16″ or 20″ (400 or 500mm) for wood. Fewer members translates to quicker construction times.
- It is able to shape itself to any form, and can be clad and insulated with a wide range of materials.
- It is easy to change or modify this construction at any point in its lifespan.
- There are a great range of systems and products catering to this type of construction.
Load-bearing walls Carry and transfer the weight of the building down to the foundation and the ground. They require strength and stability, essential to the structure’s integrity.
Non-load-bearing walls Are the internal walls that do not support the roof, floors, or any part of the structure and their loads. They’re typically used for dividing interior spaces and creating rooms.
Wall cladding and partitions Resist wind load with the help of polystyrene, gypsum board, and other similar materials, connecting them to the peripheral flange using a self-drilling screw.
Wall openings Comprise internal and external doors, as well as window frames.
Wall connectors Like nuts, washers, and bolts hold the structure together.
Roof systems Use structural steel, typically C75 and C100 grades. Builders can fasten LGSF directly into the wall frame for various roof designs, including gable, hip, and Dutch gable.
Floor systems Are generally made up of C-section joists connected to C-section bearers. LGSF provides better support for the floorboard, making it stiffer and more durable.

Normally 15–30 working days upon receiving your deposit, depending on order quantity.
What trade terms can you offer?
We mainly quote FOB China port. CIF and CFR quotations are available on request.
What is your payment term?
50% deposit to start production, balance to be paid before shipment.
Will you provide installation documents and support?
We supply assembly drawings and installation manuals with lifelong online technical guidance.
Can you send engineers for on-site guidance?
We can arrange site engineers, and related travel costs shall be borne by buyers.
Are your materials fire-resistant?
We offer claddings and insulation with various fire ratings to meet local building codes.
What is your warranty policy?
We offer a 1-year warranty on manufacturing defects of steel components. Damages from improper installation or natural disasters are not covered.
